Kanye West's Yeezy Boost 350 sneaker ad takes over Detroit newspapers
The Detroit Free Press and Detroit News and a few other metropolitan newspapers were wrapped Friday by advertisements for the newest sneaker belonging to Kanye West's fashion line.
It marks only the second time that the Free Press has offered up the entire front of its print edition to an advertiser. The news organization printed extra copies of Friday's newspaper in anticipation of strong interest among sneaker aficionados.
The ads for Yeezy sneakers run four full pages, including an artistic cover image with the phrase "We Love" written in 11 languages. Below the writing is a photograph of four young people wearing white Yeezys and embracing one another in a circle.
The ads' inside pages have the word "love" repeated in multiple languages and interspersed with more photos of the Yeezy-wearing individuals entwined in various poses.
Yeezy sneakers are a popular brand collaboration between West and athletic wear company Adidas.
While the newspaper ads do not mention a particular model of Yeezy, they coincide with Friday's planned release of the $220 "Triple White" Yeezy Boost 350 V2, which has been billed as the first Yeezy sneaker to be sold in mass quantity.Yeezy 350 Zebra online with hgih quality
