BEIJING， March 1 (Xinhua) -- Xinhua News Agency on Wednesday opened its newsroom for the annual "two sessions" inside the Great Hall of the People.
The two sessions refer to the fifth session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC)， which begins on March 5， and the fifth session of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC)， which opens on March 3.
Xinhua is the only media outlet authorized to be based at the Great Hall of the People. Updates on the two sessions will be released from the heart of the meetings.
Xinhua releases news in eight languages -- Chinese， English， French， Spanish， Russian， Arabic， Portuguese， Japanese -- and in a variety of forms -- text， photograph， video， newspapers， periodicals， and new media.
This year， Xinhua will release more new media products and its Chinese-language interactive news platform will feature new functions.
